Sumner MacDonald, Owner

With a background in traditional advertising and marketing, Sumner MacDonald parlayed his experience into the digital and online markets. Throughout 15 years of working in the fields of Search Engine Optimization, Google Adwords, Web Design, Web Development and Email Marketing; Sumner has successfully delivered results for his customers. After graduating from University of Louisville, MacDonald immersed himself in the advertising industry even serving on the Executive board for the Advertising Federation of Louisville. He enjoyed the opportunity to work for a locally owned software and web development company with hundreds of clients throughout the country. Ultimately appointed as Director of Innovations, Sumner focused on creating large scale online lead generation programs utilizing solutions including SEO, PPC, Content Marketing and Complex Drip Email Marketing. Prior to the Cultivate collaborative, MacDonald previously founded The Harpeth Group, a Web design & Internet marketing company with a national client base, which has evolved into Cultivate.

 

 

 

Katie MacDonald, Director of Client Services

Katie traveled a different path into marketing via a degree in Sociology, specializing in Statistics and Data Analysis. Her experience in data modeling proved to be a perfect fit for digital marketing- recognizing trends, segmenting audiences and understanding the ends and outs of the endless amounts of data available from online marketing campaigns. Katie is able to take the very complex systems and algorithms and translate them into meaningful insights for clients to drive actionable business decisions based on the data. She thrives in working side by side with clients to ensure their overall business objectives align with their marketing strategies. Katie’s 15 years of experience in the marketing field have made her an invaluable asset to Cultivate and their clients.

In her spare time, Katie plays the role of SuperMom, chasing around two energetic children, ages 4 and 7. She is a master Lego architect, professional “finder-of-everything-lost”, and loudest cheerleader on the soccer sidelines.
